The Digger Dude
Walking Stick No. 0007
This not one of natures walking sticks. Its another cyborg stick part metal part timber.. Only the handle is natures work. The handle is a part of a Melaleuca tree branch.
Most people associate the term Digger as a military slang term for primarily infantry soldiers from Australia and New Zealand. The origins like most things is a point of contention. However in the First World War Australian infantry soldiers were were know for their prowess in digging trenches. Many had practice in during the gold rush years back home. This walking stick named the The Digger Dude is not associated to the military or soldiers or the WWI trenches. Most of it was actually a shovel at one stage used for digging
The metal bit beneath the handle is tempered steel cut from the shovels blade. The stem of the stick is part of the old shovel handle thats been stained with soy sauce. and the handle as mentioned is a beautiful bit of a Melaleuca tree branch smoothed and oiled. The floor end is part of a stainless steel door stop.
A very light weight but strong walking stick.
