The White Egret

The right angle branch evokes an image of an egrets break. We see lots of egrets here. Egrets are symbolic of purity, balance, concentration, longevity, and piety. Because they tend to enjoy solitude, their spirit also represents freedom and independence. In a walking stick we certainly appreciate balance and support that provides independence. In some cultures and mythologies, these birds are known to act as messengers of various gods and goddesses, elevating their divine status even further.
I intend to replace the black rubber stopper with a white one. White one will suit it better. Wood itself as you can see is very light in colour. This from a eucalypt tree we call woolybutt because the bottom of the tree has a very fibrous wooly bark and the top branches clean and white. Eucalyptus miniature is their scientific name. This is one of the upper branches with the white outer skin bark removed and lightly sanded and oiled.
