Ereugo

Walking Stick  No. 0013

I dedicated this unique walking stick to the thing it most looks like.  One of natures most unique creatures.  The Seahorse.   Why the name Ereugo

. Let me explain.

Its a slang pronunciation of the words..  Here You Go..  "Ere-U-go" . Why ?

Because Seahorses are even more unique than this collection of walking sticks. Did you know its the male seahorse that carries the burden of pregnancy.

After a complex courtship and reproductive cycle the female pumps her fertilised eggs into a pouch in the males body and says in an Aussie accent "Ere-U--Go there are yours to look after now mate " and she heads off.  After a gestation period of several weeks the male seahorse has strong  contractions and he says in an Aussie accent  "Ere-U-Go  you lot your on your own " and pumps between 5 and 1,000 tiny juvenile seahorses out of his belly pouch into the ocean to fend for themselves.

They actually have several other remarkable unique features but this is about remarkable walking sticks not seahorses. So  Ere-U-Go lets look at the walking stick

Ereugo is roughly hewn walking stick you can still see the rasp marks on the stem.

The seahorse eyes are a couple of black hexagonal screws.  It's not sanded much or coated in oil.  Just a layer of clear varnish.

But I believe the copper band has powers.

Its a very strong and sturdy stick like most in the collection. The  stem diameter approximately 30mm The overall height is  90 cm  With the palm to floor being 85 cm
